Yosemite National Park
I have lived in California nearly all of my life and I made my first trip to Yosemite this past week.
WOW!!! Sensory overload…GOD ALL THAT COLOR! I am a little speechless because I never expected the color. I have painted in a lot of beautiful places but the only thing in my opinion more surreal and colorful is Crater Lake in Oregon. Yosemite is truly a colorist’s paradise.
The above painting will be at The Vault Gallery in Sonora, Ca for the Yosemite Show.
I almost didn’t post this painting because the jpeg format is butchering the color. It loses all the subtle temperature changes and grays that makes a painting beautiful. Oh well….

Even with the jpeg butchering, this is a wonderful capturing of Yosemite. It does radiate the awe you felt for the place. Wonderful shapes, glorious colors - you make me want to go back there!!

This is heartbreakingly beautiful — just amazing, even in miniature and minus the subtleties that I know would be even more exciting to see.

Nice to see you rose to the occaision in Yosemite, Bud! It’s overwhelming there, isn’t it!
Good to see you posting, too!

Elio,
Sensory overload is an expression I use when I travel to a new place. I just can’t take it all in and it’s such a natural high!
I, agree about blogging. If I don’t post I feel guilty, which is just our internal programming.
One thing it has done for me as a self represented artist, is given me a way to stay in front the whole world, actually.
I love your work and am dying to go to the Southwest and West Coast areas.
