You didn’t think I haven’t been painting???
Posted by Elio under Blogroll
Actually, I have been painting nearly daily.
Yes, even in the winter I am outside painting somewhere. This is actually my favorite time of year to paint plein air. The clouds and storms make for such dramatic paintings. Here are some of the highlights from the past month.
Painting in the fog in Oakland, Ca. The fog was so dense that for small periods all I could see were the ducks swimming in front of me.

OMG! that looks like last Sunday’s sun ray. It’s perfect.
These paintings are all so gorgeous they make me cry.

Elio, thanks for the update. Slamming color and accuracy in these paintings. Well worth the wait. You are so prolific!

Elio,
This is too much to handle at one time! Each one feels like just the time and place you painted - wow! The boats in the fog, the depth I get from the storm paintings, and the intensity of the colors in the beach pieces are just wild looking!
It’s great to see how you handled these different scenes, gets the wheels turning in my head - thanks for showing these! G

Good to see what you have been up to and that you get outside in the Winter (to very good affect) Up here in Portland we have Rain/Snow for weeks. Are the dates you have listed for the workshop in HoodRiver Finalized? I would like to post them to my blog for many of the folks I paint with around here. I unfortunately have a workshop in Idaho at that time, so I hope you like it enough to come back in 2009 so I can take your class.
All the best,

Hi Elio, I’m Peggy’s Momma. She is always singing your praises and I can see why. Your work is wonderful. Makes me itch to do some painting again, but I’d never be able to mimic your work. Teach Peggy well - I am hoping she becomes proficient enough to do a painting of our old log cabin in the woods that we tore down last summer to hang in the new cottage.

Gregory,
I must admit that you are the inspiration for posts like this. You once posted that you “liked” seeing all the work grouped like this. I realized I REALLY hate WRITING about my art and this way I can fluff up my posts.

Mary,
Thank you for passing by. You raised a wonderful daughter and it is my pleasure to have her take my classes.
She is very talented and I have no doubt she will be able to paint that cabin soon.
I just need to get her to use more paper towels.
