Thank you Elio! I’ve learned so much already, just from the first day of class. I’ve taken many workshops and art classes and I think yours is the best ever! I wrote about the class tonight on my blog. I can’t wait for the next session and feel so lucky to be studying with you.

Hi Elio,
Sunday was a real encouraging day! I am surprised in how the two paintings I did turned out – because I had no idea how they would! The small one especially didn’t look like much from up close, but from twenty feet back the way they both tighten up into an image. I’m still pretty surprised that I was able to make that happen and it’s a little intimidating because of course I want to be able to do that consistently.
I did a very small 5×7 this morning looking out the back yard, it’s almost too small of a size – trying to think about edges and temperature though.
It was again a real help to watch you on your demo to see what you do and how you are doing it. Hey, for the past four years I’ve been seeing paintings in my head while on Bart or driving places and have just been frustrated as hell from the lack of not knowing how and not doing it, so I’m excited to have found someone whose work I am drawn to and that also teaches so well – thanks for doing these classes!
cheers!
Gregory

I saw some of your work today in the Diane Bottoms gallery in Santa Barbara. There was a small still life of a glass of wine and a piece of fruit (or flower) that was so successful! I really like your work and would be interested in taking a class from you in the Santa Barbara area. I have some experience in still life and would like to continue with them. I like the appearance of spontaneity in your work.

I am interested in your Santa Barbara workshop. It is my hometown and I have anyways wanted to paint there, but I’ve alway been visiting family. This would be a great way to do both.

Please let me know about your Santa Barbara workshop. I live in Ventura, and so I could get to this one.
Thanks.

P.S. I notice that most people who can make it to weekday workshops are retired. I have a regular job, but I can get the weekend off. I might not be able to make it or afford the whole workshop, but if I could go or a day or two, or if you have a weekend workshop, that would also be nice. I know that you don’t have to run your whole life around my pathetic schedule, but I am putting in out there, just in case. Your work is so beautiful, and I am sure I could learn a lot just from watching you for an hour.
Thank you for having a workshop in Santa Barbara.
